7 Tips To Get More Customers From Social Media

In today's world, social media is one of the most important aspects of your business. People look for your business on social media, and judge how trustworthy and how high of quality your business is based off of your business's social media accounts. In this article, I am going to give some pointers to make sure you are on top of your social media game.

1) Figure out which few platforms fit your business best, rather than try to be on every single platform out there.

If your business focuses on aesthetic things, such as a photographer, or a wedding cake creator, it would work better for you to focus on platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest, which are focused around creativity. However, say your business is service-based, such as a mechanic or a dentist, it may be better to focus on a platform good at reaching large numbers of people in order to convince people some of them to stop in to your business, such as Facebook.

2) Use social media to interact with customers more than you use it to promote your business.

Social media is becoming a platform where people mainly use business pages to interact with the businesses themselves. In fact, it is almost expected. If people see that you are responding to customers on your social media, they will know that your business cares about its customers, not just about making money.

3) Show some personality on your social media.

Nobody wants to follow a business on social media that is boring. They follow businesses because they like the business, and they like what they post along with how they post it. Be YOU on your business's social media.

4) Use videos.

Whether you're running Facebook/Instagram advertisement campaigns, or just posting directly onto your business's social media accounts, videos are a great way to promote your business. A video can fit many times more content than a picture can, so it follows that you will get more out of a post if it is a video. The biggest objection I hear about this is that people do not know "what" to make a video about. It can be anything! It can be the owner of the business telling the story of why they started the business, it can be a "behind the scenes" video showing how you guys do things for your particular business, or even a simple video describing your services or answering common questions. Whatever you decide to do, record with some personality!

5) Take advantage of LinkedIn!

LinkedIn is the only social media platform that has the sole purpose of business networking. You can network with people that can be useful for you and your business, make your presence known to people who are searching for your type of business, join local or niche-specific business groups, etc. the possibilities are endless!

6) Post consistently for the platforms you are on.

On platforms like Facebook and Instagram, posting 5-7 times a week is most preferable.

On platforms like Twitter, post at least a few times a day; Twitter is meant for several brief posts a day

On platforms like Pinterest, post at least once a day. People enjoy seeing your posts and ideas coming up on their feed.

7) Join groups/communities

Almost every platform has groups or communities you can join. It can be a local neighborhood group, a business-specific group, a group for any type of business owner, etc. No matter what it is, if it is relevant to you, join it! One of the best way to promote your business is to be present and active in these groups. Whenever you post anything into these groups, however many hundred or thousand people are in it are going to see it.

I hope these tips are useful, and that whoever is reading this implements them into their business! If you have a question on any of these tips, or anything social media related, for that matter, feel free to contact me!
